This page explains how John & Diana handle the information you share with our wedding website. It is a small personal site for invited guests — nothing here is sold, shared with advertisers, or passed to third parties.
What we collect
When you RSVP, we collect your name, your party members' names, your responses (attending or not attending), and any dietary restrictions, song requests, or notes you choose to share. If you provide an email address or phone number, we store those too so we can send updates and reminders.
Why we collect it
We use this information only for wedding logistics — meal counts for the kitchen, seating charts, song queue, transportation planning, and a small number of reminder messages before the RSVP deadline.
About the reminder text messages
If you provide a phone number, we may send up to a few reminder texts before the RSVP deadline of November 15, 2026. Messages come from a toll-free number registered to this wedding website. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for support. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. We do not share your phone number with anyone — not other guests, not vendors, not third parties.
How long we keep your data
We delete all RSVP responses, phone numbers, and email addresses within 60 days after the wedding (by mid-May 2027). Photos taken at the wedding itself are kept separately and aren't affected by this notice.
Who sees your information
Only John and Diana. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone, including our wedding vendors. Meal counts and dietary restrictions are provided to our caterer as anonymized totals.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete your information at any time, update it, or send you a copy of what we have. Just email johnmlien@outlook.com and we'll handle it within a few days.
Anonymous usage analytics
We use Microsoft Application Insights (an Azure service) to see which pages get visited, whether anything errored out, and which features are used most. The data is anonymous — no names, no RSVP details, no contact info — just things like page views, click counts, and error reports. It helps us notice if a button is broken or a page isn't loading for someone. No third-party trackers are used and the data stays in our Azure subscription.
