Formal or cocktail attire. For the church ceremony, please choose respectful coverage with shoulders and knees covered.

Are kids welcome?

Yes — children are warmly welcome at both the ceremony and the reception. Please note them when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Yes — everyone is welcome to bring a plus-one. Please add their name when you RSVP so we have an accurate count.

Is there a welcome event the night before?

What time zone are wedding times in?

All times on this site are Ecuador time (ECT, UTC−5). Ecuador does not observe daylight saving time, so the offset is the same year-round.

Travel & Logistics

Do I need to speak Spanish?

No. Many travel providers and hotel staff in Quito work with English-speaking guests. That said, learning hola, gracias, and por favor is always appreciated.

What currency does Ecuador use?

Ecuador uses the U.S. Dollar. Small bills are especially useful for taxis, markets, and tips.

Will I need a visa?

U.S. citizens generally do not need a visa for tourist stays up to 90 days. Guests from other countries should check the Ecuadorian embassy or consulate guidance for their passport.

What is the weather like in March?

March is part of the wet season, with temperatures around 50–69°F. Pack layers, a rain jacket, comfortable shoes, and sun protection for high UV at altitude.

How do I get from the airport to Quito?

Official airport taxis are typically about $26 to Old Town, the airport express bus is about $8, and ride-share options may be available. Confirm your fare or route before departing.

Will I get altitude sickness?

Quito is about 9,350 feet / 2,850 meters above sea level. Many visitors feel mild breathlessness or fatigue. Arrive one to two days early if possible, hydrate, eat lightly, and take it easy for the first 48 hours.

Lodging

Is there a hotel shuttle?

Hotel Plaza Grande can help arrange airport shuttle service; contact the hotel directly and confirm details when booking. Other hotels may offer similar service.

Where should I stay?

We recommend staying in or near Old Town for the easiest wedding-day logistics. See the Travel → Hotels section for suggested 4★ and 5★ options.
